The Gram Sabha served as an essential platform for reviewing progress, addressing community concerns, and planning future initiatives. It reinforced the commitment of Kunaria Gram Panchayat to fostering good governance, transparency, and sustainable development
The Gram Sabha began with a warm welcome to all attendees, including villagers and employees, with the Sarpanch and Panchayat members expressing gratitude for their presence and cooperation. The Panchayat Secretary then read aloud the agenda for the day, ensuring transparency and inclusivity in the proceedings. Following this, the minutes and progress report from the previous Gram Sabha meeting were reviewed, highlighting the tasks that had been completed and addressing any pending decisions, fostering accountability and community engagement
The Planning Committee presented a detailed review of its activities over the past two months, showcasing efforts to address community needs and priorities. Key initiatives included a household survey to gather socio-economic data, transect walks for on-ground observation of resources and infrastructure, and meetings with various government departments to align local needs with available schemes. Additionally, focus group discussions were held with specific groups such as farmers, women, youth, and elders to gather diverse insights, and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was conducted to inclusively map issues, priorities, and resources.
Suggestions collected through these activities were thoroughly reviewed, and critical areas were identified for prioritized action to ensure effective and targeted development.
During the open forum, the questions and suggestions of villagers were actively heard and documented for resolution, fostering a sense of inclusion and responsiveness. Key issues such as water security, sanitation, education, and employment were discussed in detail, reflecting the community’s pressing concerns. Following this, the Sarpanch presented the financial accounts of the Panchayat, ensuring transparency and accountability in the utilization of funds, and reinforcing trust in the governance process.
Resolutions on pressing community issues were thoroughly deliberated during the Gram Sabha and received unanimous approval for inclusion in the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP). These resolutions reflect the collective priorities of the villagers and will be uploaded to the GPDP portal, ensuring alignment with the structured and transparent development process aimed at addressing local needs effectively
